Black Valley Gap of Dunloe Killarney!
The location of Shamrock Farm House B & B enables you to visit the Gap of Dunloe at times when the many other visitors are long gone and to enjoy the awesome solitude and the famous Dunloe echo. But there are plenty other possibilities for walking and hiking. And the wonderful scenic Cummeenduff Lake does not only attract anglers!
We are in walking distance to the Gap of Dunloe as well as to the Upper Lake of Killarney. The ascent to Purple Mountain is possible from the top of the road to the Gap of Dunloe.The short hike on the mountain will be rewarded with beautiful views! Cummeenduff Lake is popular with anglers who fish for free in the clear waters. The best way to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Glen is by walking around the lake. The upper of the Killarney Lakes is only a short walk away. A boat will bring you to the other side and closer to the other favourite spots within Killarney National Park!
The Kerry Way
This popular walking trail (click here) passes the house. Luggage transfers can be arranged. We co-operate with Lough Acoose House B&B on the way to/from Glencar - in a perfect days walking distance from our house on a beautiful track. We also offer evening meals, packed lunches, laundry service!
Our house is also popular with cyclists who enjoy the quiet backroads. Several scenic day tours are possible from the house, including a tour through Killarney National Park and to Killarney as well as a tour around the MacGillycuddy's Reeks.
